The School

Sarah McDonald's Art School offers a series of short courses run by successful exhibiting artist and fully qualified art teacher, Sarah McDonald. Under her guidance, you will learn the techniques and develop the skills and confidence you need to create your own works of art.
Sarah's aim is to provide a stimulating, fun and non-threatening environment to encourage freedom of expression with no fear of failure. Class sizes are kept small to ensure a high level of teacher interaction and to cater to individual levels of ability and areas of interest.
PAINTING FUNDAMENTALS
Have you ever had the desire to paint but not known how to start?

Painting Fundamentals is a eight-week course, which starts at the very beginning. Ideal for novice artists, no prior experience is necessary.
Through a series of simple exercises, Sarah will teach the basic principles of painting and explore colour theory before guiding you to create one significant piece of work of your choice and style.
PAINTING EXTENSION
If you have done the basic painting course and built up your confidence to work with paint, it is now time to extend yourself.

Painting Extension is a eight-week course for those who would like to explore new ideas and techniques. Students can build on their prior experience or begin their own body of work using a theme, photos or abstract ideas. This is a chance to develop and extend your own style and technique.
