ABOUT ME

SARAH MCDONALD

"Through my paintings, I explore the relationship between light, colour, and the natural world, particularly how these elements shift over time and evoke emotional responses.

 Using primarily palette knives to apply the luscious oil paint, I am interested in creating a variety of surfaces, layering paint and embracing the “accident’.  I enjoy exploring the paint's physicality and allowing the work to develop and change throughout the building process.”
